Why “allo”?

In Canada, the population is divided into three linguistic groups: Anglophones (English speakers), Francophones (French speakers), and Allophones, those whose first language is neither English nor French. As naturalized Canadians born in Brazil, we are proudly Allophones. The name allo Photography is a reflection of who we are: Canadians who brought their language, their culture, and their way of seeing the world to this beautiful country. It also carries a universal warmth to it. “Alô” is how we say hello in Portuguese, and in many languages around the world, “allo” is simply the first word you hear when someone picks up the phone. No matter where you come from or what language you speak, allo feels like a welcome. And that’s exactly what we want every client to feel.

About us

Behind allo Photography are Carlos and Katia. Carlos holds a degree in Photography and has been working professionally since 2005. Katia holds a degree in Arts and has been a professional photographer since 2007. Together in Brazil, they photographed weddings, family sessions, engagements, graduations, and corporate projects for hundreds of clients over the years.

After moving to Canada, they took time to adapt to a new country and a new market. Once established and now naturalized Canadian citizens, they returned to what they do best, bringing a fresh perspective and the same commitment that has guided them from the beginning: continuous learning and delivering meaningful images that tell authentic stories.

Today, allo Photography brings all of that experience together with a genuine focus on quality, creativity, and real human connection.
